Man in his fifties, dizzy, sent to emergency room, diagnosed with empyema, after having fever, cough, and yellow phlegm for several days, mistakenly thought it was a cold.
A stroke-afflicted man in his 50s, surnamed Huang, was recently rushed to the emergency department of Yuan Rung Hospital, part of the Yuan Rung Healthcare System, due to sudden vomiting, persistent high fever (temperature reached 39 degrees Celsius), tachycardia, and decreased blood oxygen levels. The pulmonary medicine team examined him and found that the patient had left lower lobe pneumonia complicated by left-sided empyema. Fortunately, timely diagnosis, minimally invasive drainage, and antibiotic treatment successfully controlled the infection, and his condition has gradually stabilized.
