A woman in her 60s experienced temporary amnesia and repeatedly asked questions at a funeral; a medical examination revealed she had suffered a stroke in the brain's hippocampus.

A woman in her 60s attended the funeral of a close elder relative last month. During the funeral, she repeatedly asked the same questions, and her family initially thought she was overly grief-stricken. However, after the funeral, the patient had no recollection of anything that happened during the ceremony. She sought medical attention at Yuan Rung Hospital, part of the Yuan Rung Healthcare System. An MRI scan revealed signs of a stroke in the hippocampus of her brain. Fortunately, it only affected her short-term memory for those 2 hours during the funeral. She is currently taking medication to prevent another stroke.
