Introduction to Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is a non-drug and non-invasive treatment based on medical evidence and scientific principles. Physical therapists collaborate with physicians to conduct joint evaluations and then provide individuals with designed therapeutic exercises, manual therapy or joint mobilization, physical modalities, and other assistive therapies. These interventions aim to develop or maintain the greatest possible motor function, thereby improving the quality of life. Therefore, physical therapy is a "medical profession focused on preventing, treating, and managing movement and pain problems resulting from diseases or injuries."
