Introduction to the Rehabilitation Department

Our hospital has a professional team, including rehabilitation physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, who work together to take responsibility for the physical and mental health of the public and continue to cooperate with policies to handle various tasks, such as disability assessment, assistive device subsidy assessment, and acute post-care programs.

Physical therapy: Using various physical therapy methods to reduce or eliminate pain, and to increase or maintain muscle strength and endurance. Increase or maintain joint range of motion; use various exercise techniques to improve neuromuscular balance and coordination; provide patients with health education information or assistive devices to correct and prevent the occurrence of contractures and deformities to achieve preventive functional re-education.

Occupational therapy: Using various assistive devices and therapeutic activities to help patients, treating conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendinitis.

Speech therapy: Using various tests and instruments to assess, diagnose, and treat language communication and swallowing problems. Treatment targets include children with delayed language development, articulation disorders, learning disabilities, or adults with functional decline or organic damage, resulting in swallowing, voice abnormalities, speech/language communication impairments, and dementia.

Service targets

 Neurological rehabilitation: Stroke, head trauma, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.

 Orthopedic rehabilitation: Frozen shoulder, sports injuries, muscle and ligament sprains, golfer's elbow, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, bone spurs, herniated discs, degenerative arthritis, functional reconstruction after fractures or tendon and ligament surgery, artificial joint replacement, joint contractures, scoliosis, etc.

 Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation: Coronary artery bypass surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.

 Pediatric rehabilitation: Developmental delay, hyperactivity and attention deficit, autism, polio, cerebral palsy, muscular atrophy, torticollis, etc.

 Lymphedema rehabilitation: Lymphedema caused by cancer patients.

 Protective or functional splint fabrication for upper and lower extremities

 Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of language and communication disorders in children/adults

 Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of swallowing disorders

 The Ministry of Health and Welfare's pilot project for acute post-stroke care quality is undertaken by dedicated hospitals. According to the degree of disability of individual patients, active rehabilitation treatment and integrated care are provided immediately within the golden period of treatment (3 months).
