A middle-aged woman from Changhua County recently went to a sports center, exercised, and then soaked in a hot spring for about half an hour, after which she suddenly felt dizzy and weak in her limbs, and immediately fainted and collapsed. She was rushed to Yuan Rung Hospital for emergency treatment. Upon arrival, the patient had low blood pressure and a rapid heartbeat. Blood tests and an electrocardiogram were immediately arranged. It was found that in addition to low blood pressure and arrhythmia, her blood potassium ion concentration was significantly low. She was diagnosed with 'severe hypokalemia combined with hypotension, leading to syncope and shock'.
